V1 Install
hey guys
just hardwired my valentine 1 to my 335xi. so far, no problems, as I chose to tap into the green/white wire in the dome light area. i have read that people have had issues with the V1 or radar detectors when the sunroof is on or closed. I have had no issues thus far. I grounded into the 10mm bolt which was a PITA since the ground doesnt want to fit on the bolt - but hope its all good. Why do people wild out and route all teh way to the fuse box. I have had my v1 on the homelink wire on my e46 m3 and my brother in laws volvo XC90 w/0 issues. Anyways, any idea why the fuss w/the fuse box only?

Because it solves the open/closed sunroof problem.
yours may work now, but it may stop working down the road. I just saved the hassle and went to fusebox. Also, no splicing OEM wires that way.

hmmm
I can understand, but a good connection is still a good connection. If the wiring is so prone to fail, that leads alot to be suspicious about thinking about the insane amount of technology put into these cars. Oh well, for now the green wire w/white stripe works. luckily i rarely use my sunroof.
