External Hard Drive to Export songs to Idrive?

Is it possible via USB to use a external hard drive to export songs to your Idrive Hard drive? Or do you have to use a flash drive?

According to the manual, hard drives are not supported. But I would guess that it would work fine as long as the hard drive does not draw too much power....
