Note: Bootmod3 is compatible with the S58 M3/M4 AFTER the ECU has been unlocked by FEMTO OR the ECU has been cloned.



Femto option: To get the ECU unlocked by FEMTO, you need send them the ECU. They will unlock then send it back. Custom ROM will not be available using this method

Clone: You need to get an old X3M/X4M ECU that is unlocked and flash your ECU version on this. This is the cleanest method as it allows Custom ROM and your original ECU stays intact.

i believe stage 1 is available, stage 2 is being tested

Cary Jordan now offers custom bm3 maps for the G8x platform

Thanks Mike. I assume that the OTS maps will be similar to the S58 X3M

Stage 1 ACN91 octane: 11%HP / 25% TQ
Stage 1 91 octane (95 RON): 17% HP / 28% TQ
Stage 1 93 octane: 21% HP / 31% TQ
Stage 1 E30 octane: 31% HP / 41% TQ
Stage 2 ACN91 octane: 13%HP / 28% TQ
Stage 2 91 octane: 20% HP / 30% TQ
Stage 2 93 octane: 23% HP / 34% TQ
Stage 2 E30 octane: 33% HP / 44% TQ
Stage 2 Race Gas: 33% HP / 44% TQ

Can’t wait until an OBD flash & stage 2 tune is $1500 all-in. Until then this $900 JB4 is good enough for 80hp/90tq… Godspeed to all the US/UK/EU devs trying to crack the S58 ECU…

Why do people prefer the flash tune over the JB4?

I am not familiar with the pros and cons

The JB4 and Race chip seem very convenient compared to shipping your ECU etc so interested in the advantages

You would think so, but when I checked with PTF they said they are still testing map 2 so maybe it's different

the flash tune does not require hardware or cables, it's easier to install.

It also has access to the ECU tables including fueling and timing.

The Jb4 is the best piggyback on the market and works very well

JB4 and Racechip are very convenient. And will probably be the go too solution until BM3 releases there OBDII flash where you dont have to pull or swap out your ECU. Until that happens, I suspect most will stay with JB4 and Racechip.

I had BM3 on my F80 and loved everything about it. I was able to change my burbles on demand. They had factory like tunes (CS, GTS) and flashing could be done from your iphone with no wires. Plus you could log your car to ensure it was running right. JB4 offers logging. And they are very responsive. I just personally liked how easy BM3 made things.

I suspect BM3 will be the tune leader for the G8X series once they have OBDII flashing. Until then most like the ease of JB4 and Race chip.

Talking OTS on my M4 Base

Hi,

Context: M4 Base with Catless DP, BMS Front Mounted Intake and DME unlocked (no clone).

So I think we are a very few guys using these OTS maps, since only a few people are wiling to send the DME to Russia, and only a few of them actually has a manual car.

The OTS maps are great, they really wake up the car. I have the JB4 installed and I never really liked it, yeah it pulls on the high end, but the throttle closures make the car feel slow in the low to medium range.

These OTS maps don't have any throttle closures, and depending on the fuel you can really get good power.

That said, I only have access to crappy CA 91 fuel and thank god there are a couple E85 pumps nearby, so I can add a gallon per tank just to compensate. (The Owner's Manual actually say that you can fill up to E25).

So if anyone is interested, here are my logs:

My best 60 mph - 130 mph / 100 km/h to 2000 km/h were with 91 OTS map (not the ACN):




Seems a bit slow to me, maybe is my shifting, there are some guys with JB4 doing better times. However the feel, it really push you back as I wanted.
