iPod/USB package and iPhone 3G
I took delivery of an '09 E90 335i xDrive today and it came with the iPod/USB package. When I plugged my iPhone 3G into the cable, the phone immediately said "This accessory is not compatible with your phone" and did not charge.
I know this is due to the way Apple changed the pin setup on the connector, so that many accessories that worked with the original iPhone and iTouch no longer work with the 3G. Is BMW aware of this issue? Do they have a cable that is compatible, or will I eventually need to buy my own third-party cable? |

I've seen the 3G being charged in an 08 335. Did you hit no for airplane mode and it still didn't charge? The only thing Apple did to the connector was change it so firewire couldn't charge the phone. But the car's usb should...

I get the same message with my 3G when I use a Belkin charger + 3.5mm adapter thing. It's really annoying. It won't charge my 3G but will charge a 2G. F'n Apple.

Hmm..so plugged it back in, it gave the same "Airplane mode?" question, but this time it's charging. I guess I'll just have to test it for a week and see what happens.

My phone charges, but it lists the device as not supported and I cannot access playlists etc when it is connected. Any thoughts??
