Have you driven one? lol. They are not that fast. Definitely not close to keeping up. They are great track cars but straight line not so much. Even on a track it will take quite a bit of tinkering to keep up

My friend has one but it's not even fair to compare the two cars.

To even get you on the same planet, look at how far apart these 2 cars are. Then take into consideration how far back the Golf R is, to the M3. 1 sec in the 1/4 mile, then triple that distance.
The Elantra N is a 14.1 while the xDrive G8X is an 11.20. To give you an idea of the difference, the Golf R would be beating the Elantra N, by more than the BMW is beating the Golf R. BMW 0-130 in 14.8 sec Elantra 0-130 in 25.8 sec

Ive driven an Elantra N DCT. Was pretty blown away. Drives amazing on the track and I believe the hp numbers are underrated. Definitely felt faster than E9X M3s but hell no wont keep up with G8X.

Elantra N is a really really good car, but let's be real here...

I'll just leave this here
https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2...t-test-review/ https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2...-drive-review/ The actual N one has another what 70 ish HP, 0-60 5.3 seconds, rounds out at what 13 second 1/4? If you have a g8x currently, it will "ejecto seato" you for even thinking this |

Not an Elantra N, but I have attended several track days and time attacks with a fellow in a Veloster N. The Veloster N is a bit faster than the heavier and bigger Elantra N, both have the same power and torque numbers.
In our time attack, a very tight and short 3/4 road course I beat the Veloster N by almost a second. The Veloster was on 200tw tires, and I was on the *MSP4S street tires. The advantage of the Veloster is its weight and size in this type of course. On a larger longer track, it's no contest, the capabilities of the G8X are just in a different league (not accounting for driver skill).

Race how? My M440i would beat an Elantra N in a straight line. Take a corner and I would lose.
