A guide on tinting your front windscreen in chameleon tint

I thought I’d post it up if anyone wants to try it, this is also my first time using chameleon tint

Has the US banned chameleon tints? The official branded ones seem to pass the light readings for regs in the UK/Europe.

It's down to whether the officer pulling you wants to be awkward about it but technically there's nothing in the law right now over here.

In the US most states ban any aftermarket tint on windshields other than a strip at the top.

Perhaps, but the same rules don't apply to OEM and aftermarket. Anyone considering it should be sure that they won't end up having to go through the major PITA of removing it should they get called out on it.

Damn! I remember seeing an E92 in white with a windscreen replacement, they gave him aftermarket glass that came with the heat protection tint (blue/purple/silver).

Now I'm researching whether there's F30/F32 windscreen replacements with this built in ha

I know they do it on the 6 and 8 series as well as the X5 as a “climate comfort pack”

I’d be interesting to see the film I’m working with, how close it is to the windscreen itself from BMW
