Leaking diesel?
I went and filled up my tank and noticed after that it was leaking diesel onto the ground. Dripdripdripdripdrip.
Drove home and parked, now it's drip.....drip.......drip. I didn't overfill it and obeyed the cutoff. How boned am I? What should I look for? |

Depends. From my own personal Experience. My old build setup was on air ride suspension and the rear offset for the wheels was too close to the fuel fill neck and rubbed right into it. I was experiencing diesel leaking out on fill ups. If you can't relate then you have two different rubber hose gaskets that hold the fuel neck in place before it dumps into the tank. Maybe a lose clamp or cracker hose 🤷*♂️

I'm thinking it's an issue with the filler neck. There's no puddle under it this morning, so it obviously didn't drain out the contents of a full tank.
What's the way to access the filler neck? Remove undertray in that section and go in from underneath? |

Yeah, under tray and the wheel well liner. If you completely replace the bottom hose that connects the fuel neck to the tank be warmed it is a little tricky/tight. But is manageable with patience. Overall it's not rocket science. Can be done diy in the comfort of your home if your comfortable working with your hands.

Got under the car this weekend to finally try to fix this issue. I replaced the rubber connector that connects the fuel neck to the tank with a bit of radiator hose from autozone. Tightened it up well and it looked good.
Still leaking exactly as much diesel as before. I'm baffled where this leak is coming from. The filler neck looked good. |
