There was a thread a while back, and this was the recommendations:
BMW Harmon Kardon Sounds settings - from web forum Treble 0 Bass 0 L7 on 100Hz +5 200Hz -5 500Hz +1 1kHz 0 2kHz 0 5kHz -1 10kHz -1 For me (using a dB meter, I found this to better being flat): BMW Harmon Kardon Sounds settings - flat using soundmeter Treble 0 Bass 0 L7 off 100Hz -10 200Hz +3 500Hz -3 1kHz +5 2kHz -4 5kHz -4 10kHz +4 You will find that different volume levels with drastic change how it sounds though. |

I don't like the surround either. I started with the first settings, and then ended up with the "flat" settings (second set). Seems to sound decent for low to moderate volume.
