Aligning bonnet/hood

View post on imgur.com

Hi,

My bonnet sags below the fender line at the corner, it's worse on the drivers side. Pictures above.

I've read up lots on how's to adjust, but I can't help but think that if I raise the bonnet by unscrewing the two catches and increasing the hood bump stop height then this will cause the front of the bonnet to sit higher than the top/middle of the bumper.

In turn, the top/middle of the bumper would need aligning...?

What do you guys think?

Thanks for any input.

The height adjustment to the side panel is controlled by the round bump stops on the hood/bonnet.

Try turning them out bit by bit until you have a gap you're happy with.

If not, you may need to unscrew the latches a 1/2 turn or two.

Looks like the bonnet itself is to far forward. You'd need to loosen the 4 nuts at the back of the bonnet and drop the whole thing back

Would be interesting to raise the car up on its frame, without wheels supported, on the off chance that the driver side suspension is damaged and affecting car height, somehow independent of hood.

As has been suggested, adjusting the main support bolts of the hood could solve it, but you might want to mark the original position of those bolts, spray paints or tape or pictures.

Thank you for all the tips.

I don't think it's anything to do with suspension, it's honestly in top notch condition this car and drives as you'd expect.

I was hoping to avoid loosening the rear bolts but if I have to in order to fix, then I will - marking the original spots of course beforehand.

I cannot decide whether or not it is the wing (drivers side) that is out of place, or bonnet, or both.
Is it even possible to slightly angle the wing down? I know the wing would have to be loosened, and I haven't actually looked, but I cannot imagine that'd be possible.

Unless I'm mistaken?
