e90 Adding trunk sub Q's
Hello, I am currently planning on adding a trunk sub to my Logic7 e90. Main goal is SQ, wanted to know if a 10” or 12” Image Dynamics IDQ would be better.
As well as when ordering the Technic Harness for it, how do I know which Top-HiFi my system is? Thank you. I am currently planning on ordering a Visual Ice enclosure on eBay, so wanted to know if there’s any better options as well. |

I don't believe in subs. I see no need for them in balanced system .
I am very old school . Seems like a lot of people now think subs are the cure for everything . They are not when you add a sub you get the system you had plus a sub. And usually in BMW the sub will overwhelm that system. I prefer open discussions on this forum to personnel communications with most people. No Rap no Dub Step sorry stuck in the 60's and the 70's and will remain there except for a few exceptions , that maybe approximate and add to that period. |

But you didn't just add a sub . Also there are 8's under the seat that don't depend
as much on the body of the car for sound conduction for a good part of there range. And a lot of people put subs in as a fashion statement. And you can only tune the stock system so much . If you ever looked at the specs on the stock system's There rated power is at 10 percent distortion. https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1144129 output chip specs for L7 in the above link. |

Sure, if one is cobbling together an amp/sub on top of an OEM setup, it will add thump but not be very musical. A sub has its place but it’s not a cure-all. A more likely superior solution is to add a multichannel DSP amp and tune the OEM gear. It won’t win any awards, but it would get the most out of the rest.
