Loss of power during DPF regenaration - lack of throttle response
Hello everybody.
I hope anyone out there had a similar issue and can help me solve my problem. So lets start with basics: Car is a F31 330d xdrive At 93.000kms i wanted to get it a little more power and ordered a decat and defap downpipe and brought the car to a tuner next to my home. He then installed everything and I took the car back, it ran absolutely great but every here and then it startet to smoke white extremely and sounded more deep. It felt to me like the car was running in DPF regeneration mode. So i returned the car 2-3 times to the guy and he told me that the DPF was coded out completely and its impossible it has to do with that. So he told me the turbo might be the issue... I didnt believe him since the car was running absolutely great outside of those short periods were it fellt less performant so I made him re-install the dpf and all the original parts. So got the car back, no smoke - clear because the dpf is in place - BUTTTTTTTTT Every here and then I have a reduced thriottle response.. and I do think its exaclty the period when the DPF regenerates... That would mean that the problem is still there.. its just not smoking anymore because dpf is filtering that.. or am i wrong? The car feeld like I would not have any turbo spool up until 3.000 rmp approx and then all of a sudden it accelerates like crazy (normal). Im a little lost and dont know what to do because if i send the car to a workshop they will for sure change the dpf.. but i dont expect this to be the issue since the car had that smoking problem without it as well.... Few things i read with carly: - average regeneration 475km - driven since last regeneration 212km - error code 245600 DPF full - error code 255CC00 EGR wide open - error code 249300 Rail pressure low at engine start - error code 258400 gastemperatur before cat high Once I cancelled them they didnt come back, but i had no regeneration by then. Sorry for my english, its not the best, hopefully enaugh to make you understand my issue =) |

I would first return the tune to stock and check how it's working stock.
There are so many variables and a tune only adds more variation. There are a lot of tuning methods out there, and some of them are really poor.
