Loud whine on start up which goes away?!
Hey all,
Any ideas on this whining noise, happens when car is cold, but goes away after warming up/driving 5-10mins. Listening at the engine bay its more prominent on the right side, where the alternator is and not the left - timing chain side? Researching/reading around this - pointing to oil pump and timing chain, not sure if the fact it goes away after a while points elsewhere? Anyone able to add anything? Thanks Rukp Last edited by rukp; 01-27-2024 at 11:28 AM.. |

tried the AC on off, that makes no difference.
I then tried with just the fan blower, both times min to max and back but it made no difference to the whine. |

Or use a long screwdriver against the likes of the alternator frame etc to see if you can really hear the sound coming from that
