New Shocks for F36
Bit of a mind filed with shocks, having a look on few websites Autodock have best prices, I belive I need the sport shocks with m technology and after talking to KYB the main difference is amount of pressure in shock, shaft length ect stays the same. Question is:
Sachs same shocks for std and sport suspension KYB two different shocks Bilstein B4 two different Shocks I'm not going to lie always went with sachs in past but simply due to same shock for std and sport suspension sort of puts me of that brand. KYB I can get locally for not much more instead of waiting 10 days, Bilstein would have to be ordered. What would you get? |

If yours is M Sport; you need the Bilstein B4S shocks
If it's not a Sport; you just need the B4s I've just fitted the B4S shocks with Eibach pro kit springs to my F31 as part of it's full suspension overhaul and I can highly recommend them; the car drives & handles superbly now The B4S shocks landed in just over a week from Autodoc

Sorry if this sounds silly but trying to destiguish the difference between B4S and B4s in your post. Looking at the part numbers this would indicatate 22-220080 for front 19-220093 for rear Sport with M technology without the fancy electronics |

So if your cars an M Sport/M Technology, you need the B4S As an example on the UK Bilstein page managed by POTN; the shocks I needed are the ones ending 093 & 080: https://www.bilsteinsuspensionstore....%7C2012%7C2016 Hope that helps

Little update:
Rear shocks are identical, no washer provided for nut so was forced to use original nut Front shocks, removed driver side and compering the two, Bilstein has longer shafts. Not impressed been honest unless is shock design, last time fitted to another BMW front shocks from sachs you could clearly see the difference between sport and normal shock. Hmm anyone recently fitted Bilstein? I know danb1979 has fitted some but I think you didn't do the work your self, if possible could you ask your fitter if he compered them by any chance. |

IIRC the Bilsteins will be fine; they'll settle once they're fitted a touch Are you fitting new springs as well?

The Bilstein B4S shocks and Eibach pro kit pairing is very good indeed God knows how folk live with the B12 kit on a daily driver unless their roads are like billiard tables!
