Alpina gearbox Coding - SE

Afternoon,

I’m hoping to get the Alpina TCU flash done on my F31 330D, is there anyone local-ish to Sussex who may be able to assist? I don’t have capability to do remote so ideally would need to somewhere Sussex/Surrey way?

Simon at Bavarian Coding who is mobile can do this and few other tweaks if needed. Used him for my 335D and was spot on.

No issues using the Alpina map - OEM+ when i had it. Went over to XHP but to be honest for daily Alpina map is perfectly fine and slightly prefer it over XHP as a daily driver. XHP seems to be was more suited to Petrols.

Cheers for the reply, will give him a shout. I’ve also been looking into XHP as I can do it myself. Why did you prefer the Alpina map? I’m also looking at mapping my car, hopefully Simon @ emaps or BW chiptune, so looking for whichever map suits the car best.

Depends what you want from the car- if your going to upgrade the car and turn it into a modded weapon then definitely go for the XHP as it give you more options, tweaks, shiftmap settings etc.

But my issue it that on the 35D regardless of the tweaks and settings to try i could not get the car to just been fully smooth, some of the downshift behaviour and the torque converter lockup was little too aggressive even on a base XHP. ( gearbox fully serviced and checked)

Stage 1 remap ( engine power) with Alpina Gearbox tune is more than enough for most people. Simon at Bavarian Coding was very good when i used him and also does hardware retrofits as well if you need anything.

XHP does a discount on black friday if you can wait. Simon @ Emaps haven't used him in about a decade ( did my E46 and E90s years ago )
