295 on a 9.5" width

I've decided to stay with 18" wheels for overall ride quality and handling, but I'm going a bit wider than your conventional setup...

I'm looking into 8.5" front with 255/35 and 9.5" rear with 295/30. The overall diameter will be exactly the same as the stock setup front & rear and I'm getting the fenders taken care of so that fitment won't be an issue.

The question is: Will a 295 tire fit well on a 9.5" rim? The tires are Falken FK452 and I know they run a bit narrow so hopefully someone has tried this and can shed some light.

If not, my other option would be 235/40 front and 265/35 rear.

Thanks.

do not do it!

i had a 285/25 fk452 on a 9.5 before and it looked hella goofy, get a 265, or at most 275

I think your 285/25 is actually wider because it has less sidewall. I'm seeing alot of AMG SL55 guys fitting 295s on their OEM 9.5 wheel but they run 295/35 which has more sidewall and is therefore has more flex room to fit on a narrower rim.

I would go with 275/35 but then the overall diameter will be more than an inch taller than stock.

If I'm going with 18s, I have to go with either 265/35 or 295/30 or possibly 285/30 which will be about 1/3" lower in overall diameter but should be ok from a rubbing perspective.
