What do you guys think...infected?

Yeah yeah I know this is not the best place to ask but I figured it was the quickest way to get a response before I go to a Dr.

It's a cut about an inch long near by big toe on the side of my right foot. The wet looking stuff is neosporin. I'm concerned about the swelling (red stuff) around it

How long has it been like that? Does it have heat 'in' it?
Any drainage?

Put some Hyd prox on it for a few days. You probably wont see a doc before monday anyway.

Sorry for the bad pic. I put up a better one....albeit not pretty to look at.

No drainage, no pus, no heat but perhaps a little warm.

Thanks...that's what I figured..

Was just concerned because I cut it on the floor of the boat ramp where there are tons of bacteria pollutants and germs. And I never had a wound that looked so swollen before.

I think it might need to be amputated :P

I'd say give it a few days and you won't even know you cut yourself.

HAHA initially i thought all those hairs were like spider web tattoos on your feet. The cut looks pretty clean just dont leave the wound cooped up in a work boot for too long

Just got back from the doctor..turns out it is mildly infected....gave me some oral antibiotics and some bacitracin. The key was the redness around the wound like I figured.

Yes I have hairy toes/feet..... The cut is on the side of my foot...the hair is on top

It's fine. Take it from a guy who spends most of his weekends working on wounds.

triple antibiotic ointment and a band-aid.
