America's Got Talent

Hey all,
I auditioned for America's Got Talent today. I sang on the Danny Bonaduce to try to get a timed audition (meaning I wouldn't have to wait for 8 hours to audition) and I won one of the five slots he had available to him.
I sang (Wide Awake - Chris Cornell and I can see clearly now - Jimmy Cliff) in the first audition and was put through to the second audition.
I then sang Wide Awake for the executive producer (there were only about seven people in the room - it was video taped as well) and they really liked it a lot. He encouraged me to practice in front of large audiences because if I make it to Vegas I'm going to have to influence large audiences to vote for me.
After this, I was sent to another area to be interviewed and they video taped that as well. It was more or less a "getting to know you" type of Q&A session.

I won't find out till January 2010! I know, it's a long time, but Philly is only the second stop so far for the auditions.
I can't wait!

if you can sing, why not AI, i know its not the greatest show but a lot more exposure

Thanks all. No vids of me yet. I have to practice and get some time in front of a camera too, so I'm sure I'll have something soon.

Why not try singing at some karaoke bars/clubs, that may help you practice singing in front of big audiences. We can have all of Bimmerpost voting for you!! Good luck!

That is a great idea!! Check some local clubs to see if they have an "open mike" night or something too. I don't know if this site is legit or not (top Google hit), but maybe it has some leads?

I'm already looking for open mike nights and karaoke bars. I know there's open mike night local to me.

I was away at a national sales meeting for work. I sang at the happy hour for everyone. It was a blast!
