I just used one for 1-800-Flowers for 20% and it worked.

Try to find a coupon online and order over the phone then try to cancel it and they will offer you money off usually.

Dell has different things on sale each week. If you're not in a hurry, then I recommend checking the price for the next three to four weeks.

Look for something besides Dell for laptops.

Go into the state/local, then select the employee purchase program. You can ignore the customer number and just order.

But again, for a Dell laptop, look for something from HP or Sony instead.

Worked for me on my last dell. I ordered and I had a problem with my built in sound device. I called tech support and problem still existed after they tried helping and my next try was to reformat a brand new computer which i just spent my saturday installing all my programs and games on. So i called up and told them I wanted to return it, was offered $90 off for not returning it, so I decided to try and reformat. Reformatted still didn't work, called up and told them i wanted to return it and they offered my $100 to not return it. I was like WTF I don't want a comp that doesn't work properly, so i asked for a Sound card. Got the sound card and the $90 off (should've demanded the extra $100)

Long story short order it then call up telling them to return it and you'll get another discount.
