< 1 month: curb rash
I am so pissed.
I scraped my right front wheel today, and then took it out on my fiance. Needless to say, I'm buying flowers on my way home.

Dude that can get fixed! !
One of the local dealerships has a partner that "does wheels." I've had mine buffed / touched up (minor curb rash) for $100. More extensive work will run in the $500 - $600 range. NO PROBLEM. On the other hand, a divorce will really cost you he he! |

It took me four days. Its small, but its there and I know its there. I've already bought the stuff to try and repair it myself per the DIY thread and figure I'll give it a go when I put on the winter shoes. Mine is a little gouge from catching the curb around a right turn, is pretty small and I figure even if its not perfect it will not be terribly noticeable.
If it goes well I'll be satisfied I can do it the next time I curb one. If not, the worst that happens is I pay someone to do it right and I am out an extra $40 bucks or so for the supplies.

I backed into my Ford SUV and put a few very minor dings in my bumper. I then proceeded to take it out on the wife. After all, she did call and ask me to move the cars...and then proceeded to stop at a CVS.
I feel your pain. It's bad when stuff happens to your car, worse when you do it. |

I curbed my wheel because I have an urge to park as close as possible. I was like only 5 inches? Let's make it 3...KRSHHch. lawl They are easy to fix yourself though, no biggie.

I remember about a month before I got my car. I was waiting to pick up my gf at work. I was sitting in the little pull in lane for the building and theres a island and then the street. Well this lady maybe in her late 30s early 40's pulls up in a e90 .
Nobody there so all she had to do was pull in. Well that must have been way too hard for her. So she begins to back up. Then slowly but surely begins to scrape the entire side of the rim down a 4' marble curb . She finally realizes she's hitting the curb and starts to pull forward. Not that one rim wasn't enough, she had to make the front wheel match . She then looks over and catches me / at her horrible parking job. I was about to yell at her myself. Well she sits there for awhile, then finally decides to get out and check her handy work. OUCH! She gets back in and not 5 mins later her husband walks out and she gets out to let him drive(assuming it's his car). I would guess she got an earfull once she told him or he saw the curb rashes he got.

Wife curbed my new set of wheels less than a month after installing it. I was so pissed until she reminded me that I scraped the front lower valance, twice. I need to take it to a wheel repair place that can do polished lip repairs.

I scraped my pass front rim 6-days in while checking out an Italian hottie crossing the parking lot in Lake Como, Italy.
In fact, I have a scrape on every wheel right now. And 1 on the rear driver's side that I have no idea how I got that one. The next time that I'm at the dealer, I'll have their guy fix them.

how about have a side parking distance control? Maybe that'll help? as long as you drive the car there is always a chance it will get scratch, dents or more. but what's done is done, no need to feel bad. It's strange that most people agnoized over scratches, dents on their new car, but never agnoized over sports related minor injuries. hmm, is a car worth more than your own body?

At least those are OEM wheels(no offense, still beautiful. ).
I "scraped"(not a proper word, but whatever) my brand VOLK aftermarket wheels after having them for like few seconds. How? I opened the package after the FedEx guy dropped it off, and dropped one of the wheels to the ground. I had some WD40 grease on my hand as I was installing an exhaust system. I was too excited to see the wheels. do you know that pain? you want to kill yourself. I've punched the wall with my hand(the one which made the mistake) so many times I couldn't feel it for a while. Point of my story? Feel better. Your E92 is still stunning even with those curb rash on the wheel.

dude, your recent ordeal brought back some painful memory of my first rash . I still have the scars to prove it, plus, there are many other scars on the front bumper as well. What can we do, it was meant to be driven and used.
