Dropping strut out of spindle/knuckle
It's super seized in there. I've PB Blasted the hell out of it and have been stomping on it trying to get it to drop. Passenger was no problem.
Any suggestions/tips? |

I wiggled mine out, have someone step on it while you hold it in place. Do sudden jerking movements.

Lucky you, it's only one side. Both my front structs were a BIAYCH to get out. Anyways, me and my friends ended up fitting this mini floor jack (2000lbs limit ones I think) in there and separate it.

PB Blast first, then use a small chisel. I just put the chisel in, and gave a few taps with a ball-peen hammer. Don't go crazy, you won't need much opening. Then just shimmy, twist, and move it around and it should pull out.

Try to make a tool like this
You can use a regular hex/allen wrench or a hex/allen socket. Grind down opposing sides so that it's thin enough to go in the pinch collar, then turn it 90 degrees to spread the collar. Now you can work on getting the strut loose without needed an extra person to keep the collar spread. |
