Question how noisy do RFTs become with wear?

For those who have racked up ~> 10k miles on RFTs (particularly Turanza 42s) , can you please comment on how much noisier the tires became after significant mileage occurred as compared to being brand new? Use whatever "scale" you prefer.

After 2k miles on my first set of RFTs (Turanzas) I'm discouraged, but I suspect that my BMW SA would say they sound "normal", if the consensus is that they aren't really noisy at first, only after much wear.

Also, for those that used the "bulletin" to get half off a new set of tires, does BMW sanction that deal even if you replace with non RFTs? I'm contemplating doing this. thx.
