Is it okay for projectors to running 10 hours a day??

My friend is running a small pub in Edmonton, Canada.
He wants to put projector on the ceiling and run hockey games on the screen.

His concern is, since he doesn't have any experience with it..

1) Will projector get too hot??? burn bulbs maybe? indoor temperature is pretty warm... Or is it fine......

Anyone know?? Thanks in advance guys.

Sure is. Your bulb will just burn out and you replace it. That is all....

Having it upside down will have negative effects on the projector (heat rises and the bottom of the unit probably doesn't have enough ventilation. If you have it sitting correctly where it can have a little fresh air you should not have a problem. Yes you will go through bulbs faster, but if the projector unit fries it must be a piece of junk projector.

A lot of projectors just allow the user to invert the image without flipping the projector.

I have a projector in my room as my tv about 150". (It is a recent one with HD) But anyhow I sometimes fall asleep with it on for about 8 hours each time plus about 2 hours before i fall asleep. (Actually fall asleep with it on more than often lol.) I've had it for about 6 months and use it almost every day for about 2-3 hours. I am having no problems with it, my room is a constant 72 degrees. I am expecting the bulb to burn out faster than the average rating. I got it from best buy and got the 4 year accidental full coverage warranty for it so, I am abusing it until the warranty is over, but by then new technology will be out and will be getting a new one anyways. Also those bulbs depending on model run about 200-400 $ each, so that warranty does pay for itself the first time.

I see what you did there...

but srs, i had one in college that we used as a tv. The bulb has a life span of a certain amount of hours (i think ours was like 2,000). So he will just get to that life span a lot faster and wear the bulb out quicker. Which he could just replace. There should be somewhere in the menu that will show the amount of hours on the bulb so he can plan on changing it before it blows...cuz if it blows, hes got other issues. You can also put it on a lower setting that will extend the life of the bulb.

Bulbs are consumables and not included in most warrantys. Ifit is covered in yours please post a link to the text terms of it so we can all verify and then make sure we all get a warranty like it for our next projector purchase.

Let me find it, because the salesman asked if I wanted the full coverage with accidental coverage. The first thing I asked was if the bulb was covered when it burns out and and he said yes. I asked him to double check and he said yes, so when it burns out and they don't cover I have the sales guy's name. It's best buy full coverage....
