Adaptive M Suspension / Modes: Comfort vs. Sport on Luxury-line
I don't know about you guys but I have been spending hours everyday on the BMWUSA website
playing around with the "Build Your Own" feature for the F30 ever since it came out. One thing I noticed was that I can't find the option to add the "Adaptive M Suspension" for $900 which should be available for the Sport-line. Does anyone know if that feature was just left out from the website or if it is hidden in some other 'package option'? Also, can anybody clarify what kinda changes are made when going from COMFORT to SPORT mode on the non Sport-line (Luxury and Modern) models? So far, I gather that the throttle and the transmission responses change. But is that it? How about the suspension or steering if you don't have neither of the Variable Steering nor the Adaptive M Suspension? Thanks! |

Comfort to Sport changes throttle, steering and transmission if equipped with automatic. It will also change the suspension only if equipped with the Adaptive M suspension.

Variable steering just changes the steering ratio - more steering angle, beyond ~90deg, results in progressively more input steering input. I do not know the specific rations but can probably find it somewhere.
AFAIK, this is purely mechanical and the MODE toggle has no effect on the relative steering ratio - only the input steering angle affects it. |
