What does your Nav HUD show?

Has anyone seen the complex Nav graphics? I have only seen simple red and white Nav graphics.

I think in Europe they get maps from different provider, hence the difference in the graphic.
After using HUD for two weeks, I can say I am underwhelemed by it. It just does not show information I care about to see.

It has a lot of potential but they don't really do much with it.

It depends if the information for the area is available and if needed.

Here is a youtube video showing a US 5 Series in CA driving with Navigation showing on the HUD.
Some bits get just arrows others get the "pictures"
HUD shown from around 2:22

Aside from the "cool" factor you'll get when you show HUD to your friends, HUD is also a safety feature, allowing you to keep your eyes on the road while viewing other information.

Yes. Navigation and HUD are totally worth the price.

I have not seen the type of graphics you start seeing at 3:17.

I guess I'm not driving in the right places?

I think it's worth it just for the bigger screen. It's really beautiful.

I didn't even pay attention to the HUD on the test drive and was totally underwhelmed when I did finally notice it. As far as the nav? Very nice. Unfortunately, I find my iPhone 4S to be as functional with MotionX GPS installed with a great search function. And I don't use nav very often. So $20 in software versus $2,500? duh.....

I dont plan on getting the Tech package when I make my order later in the year. I hardly use the current Navi I have in my E92. I think a Garmin would make more sense.

That HUD is nice. It is a little underwhelming but you don't want it to be distracting.

I'm not impress so far. It kind of strip down version of what you have in the image. I see the MPH, the NAV, but Lane Departure even I turned in on. Not sure it is a bug or just not for US.

I think lane departure will only show something in the HUD when you are being warned.

That picture also shows speed limit display and the collision warning from Active Cruise Control. The collision warning will also only show if you are being warned

So dont think you are missing anything in the USA HUD

The vid above is pretty good, maybe not mind blowing but being able to see simple turn indications in front of you instead of interpreting them from the screen is nice. I think it's worth it. I wouldn't go for the Driver's Assist or Parking stuff but HUD and Nav seem to be good buys.

Now that I have HUD I don't think ill ever want a car without it again. Great feature. And, it needs to be simple but helpful. Is not to detract a driver from looking at the road. On the contrary, its to keep a driver from having to look away from the road. Simpler is better.

Does the F30 HUD show the highway intersection/lane guidance as in the video too? Also true for Canada?

Ok, having established that the HUD can display multiple things, here's my question: Can the HUD display have different user memory settings, like say the driver's seat, so when my wife gets in it, she doesn't go nuts 'cause I've got everything displayed, and she only wants the speedometer? Or, do you have to re-configure it every time the wife and I swap driving?

unless you're changing music, using the phone, or using Nav, it doesn't display anything but speed. You can turn everything off in idrive and it would be my guess that it saves those settings in the driver profile but I'm not sure.

The HUD brightness, height, and rotation settings are stored in the profile, so yes it could be different by driver.
