Why doesn't my F30 328i have this? Is it only an option with some type of package??

You will only see this option if you have the Adaptive M Suspension.

...And I believe it's only available on the 335 w/ Sport Line? Don't remember seeing it with the 328 + Sport line. I could be wrong/and or the build site might be as well.

US cars should have ECOPRO/COMFORT/SPORT even in the base cars. Sport and M-Sport cars have an additional setting, SPORT+

I have the 335i w/ Sport Line but do not have this setting. No adaptive suspension, just lowered M suspension specs.

Ok thanks for the info guys! I have a F30 as a loaner, and trying to figure out what packages I want when i get mine in 5 months ....

I want to be able to have Comfort running with the Sports Suspension/wheel tightness as I don't need the agressiveness of Sport changing gears, which seems like this menu gives you, but I won't be able to to achieve that it seems when I get mine, which kind of sucks ;\

As I've stated on other threads, my 335i sport with VSS, and without Adaptive M suspension has that menu with the same selectable options (Drive, Chassis, or Both).

From what I understand based on reading posts on the f10 forum about what the options change when you don't have the adaptive suspension, (aside from the obvious gear ratios, etc.) is it stiffens the roll bars and changes the damper rates.

Didn't realise it was displayed with VSS. I assumed it was just with the Adaptive M Suspension. You learn something everyday!

Anyway switching to Sport mode stiffens up the suspension and steering. It defo doesn't roll as much as when I'm in Comfort mode but surprisingly the ride isn't as bad as my previous E91 M Sport.

Roll bars do not stiffen in this application.

To be clear, without adaptive suspension NOTHING about the suspension changes regardless of the mode selected.

Yeah, only with adaptive suspension. In my region of the world, my M-Sport package included M-Sport suspension at quite a cost. I was not about to pay twice for suspension, even though the adaptive is terrific. M-Sport is very good as well. No complaints.

To be clear, I'm just citing what I read on the f10 forum and I'm not claiming to have special knowledge on the subject. People over there have argued the subject to death and some people claim that their car rides very differently when they switch to sport mode.

This would seem to bear out according to the BMW website. I know they can be confusing with their terminology and descriptions, but their description of the suspension settings is independent of their description of the Adaptive M suspension and indicates that settings do change when sport mode is selected. I believe the key word in the description is predefined. If the settings are predefined they would not be adaptive, and so that part of the description is definitely not about the Adaptive M Suspension:

http://www.bmw.com/com/en/newvehicle..._mode.html#t=l

Sports mode.

A question of the setting. With the Driving Experience Control of your new BMW 3 Series Sedan set to Sports mode, the engine and driving dynamics react even more directly, allowing you an enhanced sports driving style.

Sports mode is activated using the Driving Experience Control fitted as standard in the central console. Through a predefined setup and according to the equipment selected, it results in a considerably more sporting adjustment of the drive and suspension – compared with the standard settings. The engine responds more spontaneously. In combination with the automatic transmission, shift points have considerably more sporting character.

In combination with the Adaptive M suspension, the chassis has a far more athletic setting. If variable sports steering is chosen, the assistance from power steering is reduced, which ensures a more direct feeling of steering control.

I have often wondered if I would prefer an N20 + DHP over the N55 and no sport/M-sport suspension. I think I'm leaning towards N20 + DHP.

What is the purpose of this setting?I have the 335 with m adaptive suspension.
If I switch to sports mode, is there anything further to select other than:
- Drivetrain & Chassis
- Drivetrain only
- Chassis only

?
