Bluetooth Module?

I noticed this underneath the trunk cover. Is this a bluetooth module?

A vin lookup doesn't show it came factory equipped with bluetooth. It does have a USB port in the center console compartment.

Any information would be appreciated.

That Bluetooth symbol most likely is the dead give away. Did your vin look up mentioned you have a telephone option also? better yet Do you have a phone option in your HU?

Its most likely a MULF2 that does both the 6FL and Bluetooth.

I suspect that as what ssmith96 said. though some luck on your side. All you might need is a mic and some simple coding and you could have bt functionality. Only phone calls though not A2DP.

All the information is spread around the forum, sometimes more densely than others. Search for posts from Snoozee and I though, and you should be covered on the how-to info.

I mean in the sense of trying to get a dealer, indy or audio shop to do it. I showed the dealer the box with bluetooth/FCC stamp and explained to them it has bluetooth. Even after seeing that stuff still was told no bluetooth on my car lol...

A ton of indy places told me not possible to code.. A few places wanted to dick around with it and charge me if they were successful or if they failed. Some places wanted to charge advance coding fees...200 dollars +

One place tried to do mic wire switch but ended up being clueless and charging me..

Now I am dealing with audio shops that won't touch my car with a 10 foot pole. I wasted an entire day driving around to different ones that said bring it in. Then when I simply ask if they can run a 3 conductor wire from the MULF2 module to the mic already installed they say no thinking I am trying to ghetto rig something in the car because they can't wrap their mind around why the car has bluetooth but missing the wire.

Only reason I am getting anywhere is because of forum members.. Especially alex and jp..

God that's annoying. I had one dealer insist that all e90s came with Bluetooth so mine DEFINITELY had it (it didn't). Then had no idea what to say when he hopped in and it didn't work. I wish it was easier to say "I know a bunch about this issue, so put me in touch with the tech and the two of us will draw the line where what I know stops." To be fair, it DID take a LONG time for me to successfully distill all the info into what worked on my car, so of course I don't find it hard anymore. But if you need any specific help, drop me a PM.

hi mate just saw this, funny thing i was in the same position, 2008 320d msort with usb, found the same box.

but good news is you do have bluetooth, ts just switched off from the factory. all you need to do is get a coder/indy to add the option "$644" to your "VO/FA" THEN HI THE "CODE CAR" BUTTON IN NCS EXPERT(CODING SOFTWARE)

i do all my own codin so it was very easy and straight forward. the only wires missing are the mic and bluetooth antenna wires which can be retrofited with ease.

hope that helps. jus did mines last week after finding my box. i now have bluetooth in the car with with voice comands!! in conjunction with my ubs
