Coilover Maintenance

Because coilovers are an expensive investment, I thought I would start a thread on how to best maintain them. This is partiularly challenging for people who live in northern climates. While researching on how to maintain coilovers in cold weather climates, I found this interesting article from Tein: http://teinusa-blog.com/tein-damper-maintainence/

For those who have managed to keep their coilovers well maintained over several years (on previous cars), what did you do to keep them in good shape?
