Doesn't matter. If you said you have to lock in today, then you won't be able to take advantage of August rates anyway. They usually go into affect the 2nd of the month. But if anything, I think they would only improve if they do change.

Are you taking delivery today as well? You can lock in the lease for this month's numbers and if you take delivery in August, you can opt at that time to take the August #'s or the July #'s so you get the best of both worlds. Not sure if this applies to you but just a thought (I did the same thing, locked in July rates a few days ago, but taking delivery this Friday the 2nd so I have a choice which one I want to go with).

I do agree with Carerra though, I can't imagine the numbers will get even worse next month, at least that is what I am hoping for!

It's true they usually go into effect the second day of the month, and they will probably improve for 2014's as the rates are horrific at present, to drive remaining 2013 inventory off the lots and because the 2014's are brand new so you'll pay a premium right now.

However, you can take the rates when your credit is run, assuming you take delivery within two months (after this, they "expire"), or the rates when you take delivery of the vehicle. So today's rates could be relevant, though as you noted, future rates are almost guaranteed to be better.

I'm not really expecting the 2014 residuals to change in August. Last summer they remained the same for a few months when the new models came out: http://www.ridewithg.com/index.php/c...ase-rates/bmw/

New rates will come out tomorrow. I don't think rates will change for the MY14 as there is still lots of '13 inventory to move. I think everything will stay relatively the same, nothing drastic

Based on this do you expect the MY13 numbers to improve, residuals in particular? Taking delivery of my 2013 335 in about 2 weeks and hoping the residuals rebound to June numbers while still including the Build Out Credit...we'll see

If they do I dont think it will be very significant. Eventhough there is still a lot to move, they have been moving out quickly this month

+1 and the build out credit and drop in MF was a nice gift from BMW. Can't see them going any lower in August. I hope they don't, I would have held off on my delivery by a week

Can totally understand that...for me, the numbers for June (64% RV for 12K miles & .00127 MF) and the numbers for July (62% RV for 12K & .00127 MF along with Build Out Credit) yielded the same monthly payment, within $1. Currently locked in for June rates, hoping RV increases in Aug, even if its only 1%...as long as MF and Build Out Credit stay the same.

Yea the 2013 335s were moving fine but the 328s not as much, so they only reduced RV for 328 by 1% and lowered MF to .00121, compared to reducing RV for the 335 by 2% and not lowering the MF.

Also, the build out credit (and actually any incentive) lowers your monthly payment less than an increased RV or lowered MF, as the MSRP and selling price of the vehicle increases (such as the 335 costing more than the 328).

Good to hear rates might stay the same. What exactly is build out credit out?

Its not that the 335s were moving or the 328s werent. The 328's were already moving very well. Its just production related. 328 production far outweighs 335 so there is a lot more to sell and sitting on lots. That's why it got better for the 328s and not 335s.

Its an extra $1000 on 2013 F30's that the dealer can discount the car

I guess that's what I meant.

335s were selling fast enough to keep up with production, where as 328s were being built faster than they could sell them necessarily.

I forget - maybe it was you that posted this? Someone at a dealer said that they had a few hundred 328s in their inventory but almost no 335s.

Jason, can you post the August rates as soon as you get them? Much appreciated.

Nice, every little bit counts, right? That's about a half gallon of gas!

Yeah production is just so much lower on 335's so that's why they are hard to come by. I didn't post that but that's like every other dealer also. Tons of 328s but no 335s. We have one 335 but thats because it doesn't have a "line" and is Liquid Blue with no Sport Auto
