Car in production, can I add M-perf. trim for VPC install?

My car went into production, and should finish middle of next week.

I am thinking of adding M-performance CF trim to the interior. I guess this can be installed at the VPC, and it is also a simple installation done by yourself.

I did not select this option at the time of ordering.

Can I still add this and roll it into my lease? Or is it too late?

Thanks guys!

If it's a VPC option, you should be able to get the accessory added to your order before it hits the port. I'd talk to your CA sooner rather than later.

Great, thanks!

Is it rolled into the lease usually? I imagine I would end up paying about 35-40% of the price (plus interest). Correct me if I am wrong.

I think this is wrong. Some of the M performance accessories can be residualized, but it's not nearly as high as the residual for the car. Also, it varies based on the accessory. I swear I saw a thread on here about it, but I can't find it. Here's a good one on bimmerfest:

The payment can be rolled into the lease but you won't get to residualize any of the accessories. You will be paying full price (MSRP or Invoice) divided by the number of months in your lease term. I've heard a portion of the labor can be residualized but I cannot confirm that.

Check if you can find it on a dealer's lot to see it in person installed, or may be somebody here or on other boards has it and lives close by. You don't want to pay a full price for something that may or may not work w/o seeing it first.

I'd check with your SA on the "residualization", I think it may have to be factory or dealer installed.

Honestly, for 3 years, I'd stick with burl, it's not that bad. Paying $1k+ is not worth it in my opinion, if it was base aluminium, I don't think I could keep it.

The M-sport car/body looks awesome to begin with, enjoy it!

Thanks guys, got it now. I think I am better off buying it right away than paying interest on it by rolling into the lease. If it is not residualized it would make no sense. I will keep it nicely and sell if off for a small price after few years when I turn in my car.

Yeah, will see it in person. Solid advice

Guess it should be ok to install by myself, there are some threads I saw. If I can get something for about $600-$700 I'd do it. But as you said, I will stick with Burl for a while and see if it really becomes something that would bother me to replace it.

Thanks!

Yes, I agree. You can always spend your money any time you want, there is no need to rush it now.

I'd be spending money on M-Sport grill ~ $100, looks so much better and a tint $400-600, have to have it in AZ
