2013 F30 Exhaust Tip Removal?
I'm a little curious how to remove the exhaust tips on a 2013 F30. Any pictures or helpful hints would be great.
I have used a rubber mallet to push in a pull but no luck. I have read a few forums that said they are removable so I look forward to hearing from you guys. Thanks in advance. |

If you start banging it out with a rubber mallet from under the car, then once it moves a couple cm, you can just pull like hell with a little twist.

Just realized you have a 328. Not sure if its different from how the 335 tips are secured.

I'm looking to either Plastidip them or use some hi temp grill paint. Did to on my exhaust on my jeep and it worked great. I tried the wd40 and it still wouldn't budge. Any other ideas?

If someone can confirm that they are slide on like the 335 then you just need to bang them off...

I believe they are but I'm having trouble banging them out. I have used a mallet and wd40. From what I've seen they are clipped on so they should twist off.

I ended up powder coating mine instead of plast dip cause I wasn't sure if the plasti dip would hold up with the heat Good luck and update us with progress http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=840756 |

Just knock the living hell outta them with the mallet. Don't be scared, you won't damage the tip.

Thanks for the input, the mallet and some muscle did the trick!
It looks so much better now with the black finish. I went with the dip since it stays in tact up to 200 degrees. Plus I can always peel it and spray it with something permanent. Either way it just required a lot of mallet! |

I just did mine. I used wd 40, mallet and a ramp. I tried it on the ground but I did not get a good angle to knock it loose. I backed it up on the ramp just to knock it loose. Drove it off the ramp for safety reasons. Then pull and twist the heck out of it. whew. replaced it with the gloss black ones from BMW.
