that x3 number shows how much it has grown in size and meets the needs for people now. the x5/6 is just becoming too big and expensive to justify

I can't believe how few 1/2 series sell in this region. They must sell much better in small car markets like Europe and Asia.
I guess thinking about it, it does make sense. I've yet to see either one on the road where I live. I do see plenty of 3/5 series and X3/X5s though and this data seems to support that. |

Yeah this was mentioned in last months sales report thread. New generation X5 sales were down then too, but some members said they were hard to find. But that isn't the case anymore. My local dealer has 27 of them sitting on lots.

You'd think with such numbers for the X5, that they would have carried over the Drive Credit to March...

Mix is worse than last year too as higher participation of low margin products such as the X1 and 3 series were more than offset by lower sales of higher margin vehicles such as the X5, 7 and 6 series :

The x3 had much deeper discount as opposed to the x5. Partly because x5 is lacking inventory and also x3 new model is coming next year.
At our local dealership, x3s were given away where as x5 with little or no discount. |

X5 Facts:
Jan : X3 made appx 13k ; X5 made appx 11K Feb X3 production 12,892: X5 made 12,200 I would think that increasing production of X5's is a better indicator of success/failure of X5 than focusing solely US sales. Also, the X5 commands a much higher price outside NA. Now price is also affected by taxes. Bottom line is production volumes are increasing. Of course, it would be safe to assume that generally production equates to sales. https://www.bmwusfactory.com/manufac...82537968#stats |
