Has anyone tried the iDrive 8.5 system but they couldn't replicate the issue. Make sure to scan for shadow codes, sometimes they don't trigger the CEL.

I've been noticing a strange rattling sound from the iDrive 8.5 system and it completely bricked the module. Have you checked the fluid levels? That's usually the first sign of trouble.
