Z4 replacement ?
Ok most people know about this but it does look promising.

I think these new generation of hybrid sports cars look very interesting indeed (i8 through to the P1's etc) as they seem to be using the electric engines to fill out the torque curves of the petrol engines, to improve throttle response, and speed up gear changes (or at least the perception), as well as make them a little more affordable to run. The issue with them all of course is the price, as really only the fabulously wealthy can afford one.
So if they manage to bring some of these attributes to more mainstream cars as more reasonable prices, then I think there is a lot to look forward to. Much as I like a manual shift and a normally aspirated petrol engine, it does seem that time are a changing... I'm sure the engineers will keep at it to hone the technology to give us modern cars that still give a real thrill and sensation to the driving experience. The render looks great, but you can guarantee the actual car will look absolutely nothing like it!
