bootmod3 update

Just wanted to let you guys know of a neat feature incorporated into bootmod3. As some of you may or may not be aware, many flash tunes have had an ongoing issue with the following code being thrown after flash tuning these newer DMEs:

201101 DME: Protection against tampering: Program or data manipulation detected

Here's a post we made on instagram earlier today:

Some cars we had in our testing would never set this code while some others would. We managed to confirm that on the cars this code was present it has been eliminated and we're tamper code free as confirmed through both the bootmod3 app's diagnostics screen as well as dealer tools such as ISTA. Not seeing this code stick around will sure make a few people happy

Never seen this code on my 2015 335i 8/14 build date. I have a tune and unless the tuner wiped it out I can't detect it with ISTA either.

is there anything harder to remove 201101 than any other DTC?

Not all cars will get the code. You're one of the lucky ones.

I used to have it but bootmod3 solved it. My friend still has it with a tune he got 6 months back from another tuner. He's switching to bootmod3 this week.

Yep, it won't always be triggered. Two local S55s would never set this code throughout our development cycle here.

Nice Ron! You're way ahead of me I haven't even acquired an android device to run the app yet

it's just a paper weight right now.

Beautiful mounting location! So you're just drawing power from the glove box USB? I have one in there as well. Question...how will you access the USB ports though and the memory card for quick flashing since its behind the radio?

Yup, drawing power from glove box...

Device is velcroed to bottom of CD/Radio unit (I have CIC, so MUCH more room).

To access, I just pull down front panel and remove...

That's so awesome! I didn't know about that spot either. You don't need access to SD card on it. Everything goes through the app. I asked PTF about this and they said only time you would need access to device is if they have an update for the software on it which isn't updated very often like the app.

Routing is under kick panel (in front of air bag). Was very easy to feed thru to center controls...took me 20min max .

P.S...excuse the dirty carpet, I haven't given her a bath since leaving New Mexico .

Ron so how long is the Ethernet (blue) cable that has the OBD port on it that you plugged into the OBD extension? And where did you get the Ethernet cable (blue)?

I have an OBD Ethernet cable I use for coding but it's like 15ft long lol and now easy to stow like you did.
