Yes a few too many M badges are much but never hide the model size if it's a fast one.
Also my license plate is NRA Benefactor Member and that speaks for itself so that's staying.
Your car makes a statement about who you are. I do not cringe in anonymity.
Perhaps I have 4 more points toward a Dinan Badge but not sure what I would add.
Love my M Performance decal and M brakes.
Sure sounds like you care a lot about what everyone thinks about you/your car. I have news for you. .....nobody notices or cares.

Interesting point of view. I am perfectly fine with my 428 and feel no reason to hide it. I actually chose the 428 over the 435 and M4. Why? Because it serves my purposes. Just because I could afford the 435 does not mean I should spend the extra money on features I personally do not need. That is something to be proud of.

Thats a pretty strong troll. Good points for effort.

I don't think your 435 outshines my 428 in any way except acceleration

Especially being Lux line and all, doesn't even look aggressive! If anything I would say my car outshines yours as far as the eye is concerned.

I will say the 320i definitely saturates the brand though, I'm not saying its useless, but it really just shouldn't have come to america. Unless you are getting it completely base there really isn't much of a cost savings.

That is not true try to have three extra passengers and see how the acceleration? The 425i is quicker than your 428i.

It does if you like the element of stealth. More than a few "sports car" drivers have been surprised how quickly my humble wagon picks up speed.

I kind of agree, but not entirely. I was watching a review of the US made VW Passat 1.8T SEL and almost collapsed when I saw the price tag of ~$32k. It is sure most people will go for a more pedestrian version of this type of car, but I'd take a bare bones 320i any day over a well equipped Passat, Accord, Camry etc. I find it nice this base version make it possible to more people to enjoy a bimmer (and that it helps BMW make more profit and invest in better future models).

Back to the debadging, just do it if you like it better from a cosmetic standpoint. If you are concerned about your 'image', remember that the average age of US cars is 11.4 years old!!! There is nothing to be ashamed of to drive a 320i at all.

I do agree with that. Its a touchy subject. I believe it saturates the brand but I also know it was necessary for them to keep a competitive edge. With merecedes releasing the CLA250 and Audi the A3, BMW really had no choice but to release the 320i.

I'm not downplaying the car, its fine for what it is, I'm not going to go all 335i owner and say it's worthless :P

LOL. I am a (tuned & debadged) 335i driver and have the utmost respect for the 320i and their owners. Guys who looked down on others because they have a bigger engine are probably trying to make up for other personal issues ... and they do not realize there will always be someone with a nicer car than theirs!

Hahaha, I know not all are like that Hell, most aren't.

It's really only a few people on the board's that like to come out and troll the 28i model owners, but when they do come out they make a big deal of it.

Yeah, I think most people debadge more for looks than to try and purposely fool anyone to believe they have a different car.

I know I am totally in the minority but I like the badge, especially on a white car. Without it, the back just looks too plain. I also like how the "chrome" matches the exhaust tips. For some reason to me debadged cars in other colors, especially dark ones looks better. That being said, I am thinking about changing my badges out to black. If I do this, I wonder how the chrome exhaust tips will look?? Oh man, another first world problem....

Agreed, I debadged my last car because it looked clean. If you do that you could always order some black exhaust tips.

Thats the problem. I dont like black exhaust tips. Would chrome ones look odd if there is no other chrome/shiny bits on my car?

It would look fine man lol, don't worry so much.

Then again I shouldn't be talking. I'm crazy anal about everything.

Ha Ha! Yeah I am pretty OCD/neurotic about some things. I remember on my previous car, trying to get the ride height perfect within 1/16". I dont know how many times I adjusted those damn coilovers!!!

EDIT: of course I had to go check out my car right away and noticed that the BMW emblems have chrome surrounds so I think changing out the badges to black and leaving the exhaust tips chrome would still look "right". Sweet. Going to order some black badges from IND right now!

I should have just told the dealer to do it for me when I had them take the dealership badge off the trunk

Same here. I did it because the badges otherwise look silly - "xDrive" and "328" don't mean anything to anyone. They just take up space, and are harder to clean around. Plus, anyone who is in the know will see my wagon with the dual tips and know it's a 328i (vs a 328d). I can't hide anything from anyone by debadging.

That said, I am getting the Dinan tune when the warm weather hits, along with the black tip exhaust. Can't wait!

I debadged (ordered that way) the car because I thought it looked cleaner (waxing around them is always a bitch)
Would have done the same if I had an M4.

I also don't mind if other people confuse the car with lower models (428i, 425d or 430d)

@Z_Victor1, awesome reference
