installing N55 exhaust on N20/N26
Hi all,
I have a an N26 428i with the current mods on the car being a muffler delete and cold air intake with no tune. I was wondering if there’s a way to install an N55 catback exhaust on the car, I’ve noticed with the muffler delete it’s loud but too tame for my taste, I’d like to get more burbles and noise stock (if possible). I’m fine with doing a dual tip conversion if necessary, and I’ll get the work done professional just wondering if it’s possible. |

the hangers and everything are the same as long as it an f chassis. you'll have to modify the mid pipe where it connects to the downpipe is all. a muffler shop can do this in an hour and you are good to go.

Some of my experience, I used N20 with N55 exhaust pipe
The Bracket, rear muffler right is different and needs to be replaced with 335I parts. If you use the B58's muffler, then the Bracket, rear muffler left is different, not the right. Otherwise it will cause some deviation in the muffler, of course, there is no problem if you are not pursuing perfection. There is also a front PIPE that needs to be cut and replaced with N20, which is the red line in the picture. You need to pay attention to the position of the silencer when welding, if you want to get a perfect effect, instead of protruding on one side and recessing on the other. |
