Do you prefer your headrest tilted o straight?

Simple question:

Headrest, tilted or straight?

Whatever it takes to have it no more than an inch behind your head, otherwise you lose protection against whiplash.

It's a head restraint, and should be close to your head to be functional - not fashionable.

I try to stay 1 step away from safety so I fashionably choose 1 click.

I like it tilted towards me because that is where it functions best for me to prevent damage if I get in an accident.

Tilted all the way forward. It looks sportier and also provides better protection (for my head) in the event of an accident.

Depends how upright you like to sit. I sit fairly straight (not as straight as I would on the track but not far off) and find even on the rearmost tilt it still protrudes too far forward for me (I can feel it touching the back of my head). When I tilt the seat back a bit it's more comfortable. It would really suck with a helmet, I imagine.

I find this effect even more pronounced, almost to a ridiculous degree, with many of the cheap economy rental cars I get. I have to tilt the seat way back to avoid having my neck uncomfortably canted forward by the headrest. I have the same issue with a lot of airplane seats too.

I wish BMW did like Mercedes. Those things should popped out when there is a rear accident.

The correct position of headrests in the car

To ensure your headrest is correctly positioned, adjust it so that the top of the headrest is level with or above the top of your head and as close to the back of your head as possible.

If only. More likely you end up quadriplegic, so you can be a burden to those who have to spend the rest of their days caring for you.
