I was wondering if anyone can help me?

I bought a 2012 F31 a year or so ago and it had an additional aerial fixed to the roof. I am now investigating installing an aftermarket DAB module and was wonder if I could use the aerial to pick up the DAD signal.

So I started following the wires and found the following...

SMB cable leading from roof aerial to first aid compartment in the boot.

I also found a DB15 15 pin cable with 3 leads coming our of it...
2 leading into the boot floor, destination still unknown.
1 leading to under the front seat where it connects to a small black box which could be speaker/alarm as it is quite heavy.

The black box is sealed and looks like it opens with a round 'finned' socket, but no other screws or allen bolts.

It does have a small sticker on it which seems to show the installation date? and has a small logo in the middle.

There is also an ethernet cable leading between the compartment in the boot to the underside of the passenger seat where it is zip tied to the seat rail adjustment handle.

I have attached some photos.

So the questions are, what is the box and what did the DB15 and ethernet cables connect to?

Any help will be appreciated.

Looks like a dismissed MI6 vehicle.

Be careful pushing buttons until you safely identify the PEC*.
