Tint Question

Hello all, I'm having a tint put in on Monday and one of the options is a windshield strip. I'm not sure if I want this and would love to hear some opinions and/or see pics. Thanks in advance

I would say no since it's already somewhat tinted from factory but do what you like.

I would say Yes...

I had a 6" strip it on my e90 and liked it a lot. I had my windshield replaced and didn't put it back though...just never got around to it. I just had my F30 tinted and did not get the windshield strip done, but I may opt to do it in the future. I don't think my windshield is tinted at the top at all and it does help....so i think you just talked me into having it done to the F30.

Yes. That it's not standard is inexplicable. I wish someone made a gradient strip like OEM, but I've not been able to find one. Also, considering its purpose is to keep you from being blinded by the sun go with 20%.

I would not put a windshield strip as I don't like the way they look, but there is another option. Are you interested in reducing glare or heat?

There is a product from Llumar that is virtually clear but cuts heat dramatically. It is often used on the entire windshield, but the cost is very high.

The windshield strip would be for sun and glare. I'm doing a ceramic tint for the heat. SW Florida can be brutal, especially with black leather.

I see, then certainly a windshield strip is practical, but if you're unsure, perhaps you should see how the car is with just the side and rear tints, or see if you can find some pics of how it looks on a white F30.

Also, based on your seating position, you would have to figure out how far down the windshield you would come. Depending on your eye level, there is a fine line between just right and too low.
