Mineral Gray Metallic X1, some cameras, and western fall color!
Like all weekends to Reno, I was out of fun money and it was time to go
But I had some extra time, a full tank of gas and three cameras with fresh batteries in the X, so it was time to take the scenic way home. I headed south out of Reno on the relatively new I-580 that runs to Carson City. I've been watching them build this road, including this impressive bridge for years. Here is where the real fun begins! 20131012-_DSC1922 by lennycarl08, on Flickr A view from the X by lennycarl08, on Flickr Monitor Pass is kind of high desert with a splash of pine and aspen forest thrown in as you climb to the 8000 foot summit. The X felt right at home on this nearly empty stretch of highway that morning. 20131012-_DSC2005 by lennycarl08, on Flickr Eastern Sierra Ridge by lennycarl08, on Flickr 20131012-IMG_9999 by lennycarl08, on Flickr 20131012-IMG_0044 by lennycarl08, on Flickr Robert M Jackson Highway by lennycarl08, on Flickr 20131012-_DSC1952 by lennycarl08, on Flickr 20131012-IMG_0056 by lennycarl08, on Flickr 20131012-_DSC1977 by lennycarl08, on Flickr Monitor Pass Summit by lennycarl08, on Flickr Monitor Pass Historical Marker by lennycarl08, on Flickr X1 near Monitor Pass summit by lennycarl08, on Flickr 20131012-IMG_0063 by lennycarl08, on Flickr I almost wished I was in a Z4 with the top down! Left is more fun but takes longer. by lennycarl08, on Flickr Heading back toward the Tahoe basin 20131012-IMG_0101 by lennycarl08, on Flickr The road ahead and to the right is 89, which heads to Tahoe, I headed straight on Kit Carson Pass toward Stockton and home. 20131012-_DSC2035 by lennycarl08, on Flickr All in all, it was a fantastic morning, and another great outing in the X1. This car is everything I hoped it would be and more. I can't wait to bring it back up this way in a couple of months and try it out in the snow! For now though, one last splash of fall color! 20131012-IMG_0155 by lennycarl08, on Flickr |

Great pics!
What effect, if any, did the 8k air have on your car? Did the blower compensate, or was there a difference? Moon ETA- I'm new here; soon to be the proud owner of an X1. Our mountains in Westsylvania don't get nearly that high; just curious. M |
