Thanks for the help, but unfortunately this has bricked my A version andream... So I can't recomnend for anyone else to try it. The update started OK, but the screen went blank very quickly and then back to the BMW system. I've been unable to get back to the MMI interface since then.

I'll try the recovery techniques now, otherwise this I'll have to purchase a newer version.

I am sorry, I was quite sure that it works with the A version as well. I used it on a B2 Carlinkit, and others used it on Andream and Road Top B2s. Did you use a reliable quality USB drive? FAT-32? At times the brand (quality) of the USB drive makes a difference. Should be 16GB or smaller, although I was able to use larger, but safer with 4GB or 8GB or 16GB.

Here is a link to the force upgrade being used, so you can reinstall the previous MCU file. There may be two slightly different procedures for MCU vs CUST Ver.

There is also a recovery option, if the forced upgrade fails. Use your previous MCU file:

Thanks for the effort, unfortunately none of the recovery methods are working. I can't get the MMI interface to display at all.

I've been using an 8gb drive, formatted correctly that I've always had success with. I've also tried a 16gb drive with the same results.

I've tried methods with and without both recovery110# and recovery111#, with and without the old working MCU update file.

I have access to the power cable to the box so have been disconnecting that and also letting the car go to sleep before retrying it.

I will contact Jenly Tang to see if she can at least offer a discount to purchase a newer unit.
