Black Friday:BM3 or MHD or MG?
Hello,
I've just bought a 2016 340i with 74k km. I would like to unleash some of the power of the 3.0L (compare to some other german 2.0L engines, I am sure that there are some juice left). This is my daily driver and my wife will drive it (and most likely my daughter in 2 years since my other car is manual). I will do the basic upgrades: spark plugs, intake, upgraded catted DP. Catless reminds me my old 1989 CRX that I could see through the floor. I could upgrade the fuel pump in two years. I am looking at the black Friday deals: MG 15% off - Total Stage 1 (including logger): 382.47 USD MHD 15% off - Total Stage 1 (including monitor): 459.00 USD BM3 0% off - Total All maps: 645.00 USD (I know, I can get most likely 10-15% on Facebook groups) My priorities: reliability(50%), money(40%), bells & whistles(10%) So, my question to bimmer fans, what do you recommend considering my requirements ? Thank you all for your feedback!! |

I have been using bootmod3 on my personal car and I'm very happy with the results. Strong OTS power, reliable, constantly getting updated with new features and unmatched support from PTF and the community
I also have 185 Bootmod3 customer reviews posted on my website

I have bootmod3 and have been very happy with it so far. There are many people who run the MHD and have a ton of success with it.
bootmod3 had a black Friday sale last year iirc so they 'll probably have one this year too |

I do see a strong preference for the community on BM3. They have also a very good marketing campaign. As the same time, since, I am probably a Stage 1 or at most stage 2 user. I don't think that I need all bells and whistles. I will install it and forget it like I did for my N52 with bimmerlabs.
The extra bucks that you spend of BM3, is it for reliability and performance or for the extra features that I won't use anyway? Thanks for your feedback. |

JR Auto Performance DBA aka MG Flasher has been tuning BMWs for a long time. I ran his tune on my old diesel flawlessly. That said, I am looking into the same...stuck between BM3 and MG and also plan to just stay stage 1. Following this for any feedback, unfortunately, when it comes to tunes, it's rare someone has experience with both, so you will get a lot of biased opinions and stage 1 isn't all that popular.
I trust Jarek at JR but I'm open to BM3 too. JR is located in Oakville, Canada if that makes any difference to you. |

Chaton78 I'm in the same boat as you. Haven't heard much about MG but it's undoubtedly a steal compared to the other two.
To be fair though, you're comparing stage 1s to a fully unlocked BM3. A better comparison would be: MG: $467 MHD: $461 BM3: $645 One thing to consider is BM3 has resale value where I don't think the other two do -- in which case they all end up pretty close. If I can find a nice BF deal for BM3 I'll probably end up going with that |

MG flasher is approximately the same cost if you get the OTS MAP pack and Logging, but you can also just get the flashing license and a stage of your choice for under $300usd...that's just nuts. On the flipside, a used BM3 license is also around $300...so decisions decisions |

It's better to buy it from a dealer as some dealers offer a free Enet cable with the license
We offer the phone adapter with the license as well and more importantly a bm3 sticker which guarantees an additional 5 whp

Mike, maybe I misunderstood you earlier. The adapter to use an iPhone 6s is included with the BM3 package ?

I believe MG flasher retains the map you had on your car prior to flashing, and if it's MPPSK, then when you flash back to stock, it's the MPPSk map that is installed again.
