Got the smoked ones from eBay like $20.... pretty easy, I did a DIY write up on here somewhere.

These ones are a very reasonable price

Today I swapped my chrome grills for gloss black.

I tried the method of undoing all the bolts along the top an pulling the front out to release the old ones but found it extremely difficult and gave up.

A forum member posted a link where someone had made up a hook to do it with so I followed suit and made my own.

This did not require undoing any bolts and the whole process took 5 minutes.

Did the exact same thing today with my 328i. Bought from same seller!...took me longer than anticipated to put on, wish I knew about the filing. What portions did you file off? Clips fit but I had to put some pressure on them.

I had to file areas around the 2nd clip from each end. When I was trying to put it on it's pretty clear where it doesn't fit.

Yeah those were definitely the trouble spots...actually it made some very minor scratches on the bumper due to it. I may take it out and see if I can file it out for better fitment.

Custom one using a Magnaflow muffler.

I used silicone grease in the diffuser clips when fitting. The clips push in workout an issue once lubed ;-)

I did some wrapping. My original trim was aluminum hex, with gloss black strips. I like the look of the blue trim strips, though, so I wrapped the aluminum in carbon fiber, and did a brushed blue metal wrap on the strips. I'm not an expert when it comes to wrapping (just learned a few weeks ago), and it's not perfect on very close inspection. However, the flaws don't jump out at you in person, and the people I've shown it to don't realize that it was a DIY effort. I also added CF mirror caps, CF dual-slat grill, and I wrapped my side vents in CF vinyl (Yes--I know the car needs a good wash).

Man your hook looks professional grade compared to mine. You could consider mass producing and selling these
