I've been running my track set up - ARC8 18x8.5/255/40/18 MPSS - for 2 weeks on the street now since missing COTA due to pads that didn't fit and have loved the feel.
So much less understeer and tons more front grip, car used to really push badly in corners. Still does a little, but square is so much better than staggered. Also zero rubbing, even on high speed corners on SH45 with a lot of bumps and road undulations. My only gripe is the TPMS light being on all the time, but have gotten used to it ![]() |

Definitely not...you should have a good 10mm+ of clearance to the strut. You'll be very close to the fender though.

I am looking at the ARC-8 ET42 square setup. For those of you running these wheels, did it clear up the understeer issues on track or are you also running camber plates? I am looking at the Vorschlag plates but am concerned about the noise for daily driving.

It reduces understeer a bit by providing a bit more front end grip but I would not say it clears understeer up. |

I was thinking either of the following: - 235/35 front and 265/30 rear - 245/35 front and 275/30 rear I use it on street 80% and 20% for trackdays. I'm also ok with up to -1 camber setting. Thanks in advance! |

Front: 19x8.5" ET35 with 235/35-19 tires Rear: 19x9.5" ET43 with 265/30-19 tires - Direct fit with no modifications required. We also have a 19" ARC-8 setup available: Front: 19x8.5" ET35 with 235/35-19 tires Rear: 19x9.5" ET33 with 265/30-19 tires - May need rolled rear fenders depending on tire brand to prevent rubbing during hard cornering. Hope this helps! --Dylan

Apex Apex Apex. Strong. Lightweight. Stylish. Economical.
Running 18x8.5 et38 SM-10 wheels with 245/40 RS4s. On 245/40 PS4s I had no rub and it was VERY flush. As soon as the RS4s were on I had some gnarly rubbing on the fender tab. I removed the tab and rolled the fenders slightly but still had rub (mostly on bumper cover), it wasn't until I had camber plates that I was able to eliminate it. Always plenty of strut clearance.

I'm planning to slightly lower the suspension, ie the fender lip levels with the upper part of the tires (so you cant stick your finger in anymore). Do I need another modification to ensure no rubbing? I plan to purchase Advan Neova 08 tires. Thanks again, super helpful! |

Apex
I'm in a 2015 435i xdrive coupe and running square 18x9.5 et 35 Apex EC-7s wrapped in 265/35 pilot sport 4s. I'm lowered on Dinan lowering springs and there is zero rubbing and the fitment has slight poke. I track frequently and this setup is amazing. [IMG][/IMG]

Can I bump this thread?
I need some up-to-date advice for a good square setup for a track day 😬I was running my street setup (235/35/19 and 275/30/19) with Conti 7, but I’d like to try 18 inch semi-slick square setup. Last edited by R1d3r; 04-13-2026 at 02:39 PM.. |
