EDIT 1: so read thru this entire thread, and it sends like I should avoid CPO to get the full 7 year Platinum VSC as the CPO disqualifies it? I had actually asked one dealer to CPO a car for me

EDIT 2: see my posts after, I was deceived. Mos def find a CPO or convince a dealer to CPO a car (like I did) as it is wayyyyyy cheaper to get the same timeframe of BMW backed coverage at a drastically cheaper price. I'm talking about approx 7-9 times cheaper.

They won't assist you till you receive the car. If its a brand new car it's not in the system yet so they can't quote you. If it's not a new car but you are shopping a bunch of cars and want various quotes they will prob tell you the same. I am not sure the exact reason bc I dont know your specific situation but I would def recommend working with them to get any answers you need as you can see they are vary prompt but also can give you the correct info based on your specific situation.

To be clear, it's not a brand new car, it's a CPO. Selling dealer is claiming I must purchase CPO wrap with them at time of purchase or I forfeit the chance to ever purchase it. Hence, my predicament.

I have emailed them back asking for clarification, I will definitely PM you if I have issues after 24 hours.

So over on ********.com, user NomoTesla provided me with another dealer's phone number. I wanted a faster answer and she confirmed my suspicions. My selling dealer's finance guy is absolutely lying.

BOC emailed me soon after and re-confirmed it, so FYI everyone, CPO wraps can absolutely be purchased at any dealer after delivery. You can actually also purchase the Platinum VSC, and while it might possibly have a longer length, it will definitely be more expensive than the CPO wrap.

Thanks GOLFFRR, I will be declining my dealer's "exclusive" warranty and emailing your finance team again once I take delivery.

Again, FYI everyone the CPO purchasing ability at any dealer has been confirmed by another dealer with a caveat.

Verified by a BMW Safeguard rep (my understanding is that they are the insurance company arm of BMWFS) for further confirmation:

"So the rule is that any dealer can sell a customer a CPO extension if the customer is still under their 4-year, 50k factory warranty. Once the customer lets that warranty expire, they are no longer eligible to extend that CPO warranty."
