Rebuilt some used Msport rear calipers from a m235i I bought from eBay. Evidently the (some?) m235i caliper use 40mm pistons, not 44mm, so the rebuild kits I bought did not fit. Unfortunately I didn’t realize this until after destructively removing the dust boots

I ended buying a rebuild kit for the front which has 40mm pistons, but the square cut seals were pretty loose on the pistons. So I just reused the old piston seals and installed the new dust boots from the front kit. I was able to use the crossover seals from the rear kits.

I installed the rebuilt calipers yesterday. I replaced the brake lines and caliper bolts. I used r1 concepts geo-carbon drilled/slotted rotors - saw this company had mixed reviews but found a set on Amazon for $70 so it was hard to pass up. Paired them with Hawk 5.0 pads.

Next up is painting them, I’m just waiting on some decals to get here.

Do you notice any difference between using RunFlat and standard ones?

Less than expected (from what I have heard and read), but definitely!
I just travelled nearly 500km today with them and the improved comfort is very noticeable. Every time there is bad asphalt or some edge you drive over, there is an unfamiliar softness (like driving on soft rubber instead of hard) which just feels new. I don’t think about it, but the feeling/response is just different than what I am used to and expect.

I do not yet have an opinion about performance - they are supposed to be lighter and contribute to better acceleration, besides traction and steering. Not tested sufficiently yet, but they do feel good

Definately feel a softer ride than the harsh-over-bumps with the run flats. I went from a 5 series to this F32, so, I really appreciate a softer side-wall on the sports coupe.

Performance-wise, maybe a minor-to-unoticable slight roll or delay in response to a quick curve, but nowhere near a deal breaker.

I have been thinking of switching from the run flat to standard when the time comes to replace my existing set. Glad to hear performance difference is minimal and ride is softer.

When I purchased my F36, it already had a spoiler installed (M4 style??). Wasn't particularly a fan but lived with until now. I wanted something a tad bit more aggressive but cleaner lines and not flashy, if that makes sense.

I bought a PSM style spoiler and while it looks good, it still wasn't what I was looking for. Until I found this other "PSM" style spoiler specifically for the F36s and hounded someone of FB for the link (shoutout!). It reminds me of the Turner F30 high-kick, in that it blends in with the curvature of the back side of the lid.

Anyway, photo of old one (in the middle of removing), first PSM style spoiler, and the one i just got. Hope to mount it later today. Let me know what you think.

Updated the tail lights. They're Vland I picked up during a sale. Fitment is pretty good, but the bead of foam they put on the inners was way too thick. It caused them to not sit perfectly flush with the outers so I had to trim it a little. Routing the wires from the outers to inners was a bit of a pain too.

Retrofitted the LCI HVAC screen and surrounding trim into my Pre-LCI and did the associated coding to get the sport lighting option for the white light. Bought a couple of used units so I could cherry pick the best screen, buttons, knobs, etc. Glad I did because some of the plastic pieces that transmit light had a broken glass look to them, so I was able to swap the good parts over to one unit and make myself a clean piece.

TBH I’m not a huge fan of the gloss black trim and prefer the matte version, but the ambient lighting won me over.

Will be replacing the ambient light LED modules in the near future so that the lights are actually bright and visible.

Added a 10.25" G30 screen in my F36 using my own 3D printed bracket and mount:

If anyone is interested in the design, I am selling it on Cults3d for around 47$, search for "BMW G30 Screen". Direct link: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/vari...series-f3x-f8x

If I am violating any rules, admin please remove the link.

It's not a copy, I designed it from scratch. I live in Europe and I didn't want to pay 300$+shipping and import tax for a piece of plastic. So I bought a BambuLab A1 mini over a year ago, learned to design in CAD, upgraded my 3d printer to a P1S and after alot of trial and error (and many rolls of filament), it's done.

So thanks to bimmertech for making 3d printing a hobby

yeah i understand, i dont get their pricing on that item at all, i would think even $100 is a lot to ask for a simple plastic mount, especially in today’s world where 3D printing is so easily available to everyone.

Installed a "type 2" sport diffuser to add a little bit of aggressiveness to the rear. I didnt realize this at first but it pushes the bottom part of the bumper out about an inch, making the exhaust tips fit more flush with it. Just need to find some rear spats that jive.
