Sorry, when I said steering wheel controls I actually meant the scroll wheel. If I use it to scroll to the green answer symbol nothing happens when I press it, same with the idrive controller. Works fine navigating CarPlay or ending calls, just not when answering incoming calls.

thanks for sharing ..i flashed it and I see very tiny differences from the previous 9.2.8 ylb .. still grainy and stretched graphics running on Android auto and no auto connect still .i made 2 calls and both calls went thru cleanly ..not 100 percent sure they ran thru oem BT.. I'll experiment more tomorrow.. I'm coming from running the v1.0 as for whatever reason the v.2.0 still won't work for me ..so debating if I want to flash back to the v1.0 with the clean sharp interface

In my case I can't use latest MCU and mod 2 version (with fixed mic and resolution) because I loose switch to NBT by long press back or menu option. So I'll tried 9.2.9 with MCU 19.12.12 but it does not want to flash. Which MCU version you use? Maybe I'll flash it to updated version and than downgrade MCU after 9.2.9 install.

Maybe it's worth to build a new custom unlocked version if it's possible)?

your BMW along with the CarPlay MMI Prime and your car has PDC (Park Distance Control) and you will be using the automatic front camera displaying feature (Front View Camera Duration) make sure to toggle the Front Camera setting to ON, and also set up the duration for which the front camera should engage in the Front Camera Duration setting.
5. In Settings there is a function named Right Hand Drive. Toggle it on and your CarPlay/Android Auto will display in Right Hand Drive mode.
6. We changed the default wifi channel from 36 to 6. After the iOS 14 update channel 6 seems to work better for most iPhones.
Android phones continue to work best on channel 36 in most cases, however results may vary so if you’re experiencing any dropouts, freezes please try out the other wifi channels. After changing the wifi channel press and hold the iDrive controller BACK button for 3s until the MMI reboots. The wifi channel change will take effect after the reboot.

i have the 20.6.2 MCU. .works fine with the new update , also the update you posted does work with the oem BT 👍

Hi everyone, i just ordered an Andream MMI NBT and installed it in my car a couple weeks ago. First off, thanks for all the useful info here! I was able to answer most of my questions i had, and made it through the first 130 pages or so of this thread before i got a bit loss in the software discussion lol.

Anyway, sorry if this has been asked already in the pages after, but i was wondering if anyone's had these problems:

1. About 10-20% of the time, when i power on the car, my iPhone 11 doesn't automatically connect to Andream and launch CarPlay. It just stays in iDrive. I found the easiest way is to go to my iPhone bluetooth settings and manually select/connect to the Andream unit. Then, Andream will launch into CarPlay. Would this be a phone issue? It seems the Andream unit is launching ok, but just not automatically connecting. I found it a bit annoying not knowing if it will connect or not.

2. Is there a way to get music to auto-play on connection, similar to when you have iPhone connected via Bluetooth? It's a bit annoying to have to manually hit the play button every time i get into the car.

Thanks in advance if anyone knows the answer. Really appreciate the help

For 1. , this is a know issue and this indeed happen from time to time. As you wrote connecting with Bluetooth iPhone setting or using the MMI menu to disconnect the current phone help in most of cases. This is just a 3 clicks on the knob.
Else connecting on wifi channel 6 helps a bit.

For 2., you can create a shortcut action in IOS to start auto play for music (if you search in this thread this was mentioned)
I use it also to start waze and force sound to go via AirPlay/Aux. Maybe you can do something to mitigate 1. but this happen so rarely in my case that I even did not tried this way.

While B_V1.0.4-2 already had the AA widescreen, for some reason this version doesn't have it anymore. I could not detect any other changes.
//Edit: My bad, ignore that. There are several config files for AA and while they indeed changed a couple of them back to non-widescreen, the relevant one for us (8.8"/10.25" displays) was unchanged. Sorry for the confusion.

For the first time in a long time, they included a changelog file. However, it's for Andream and not for Carlinkit and mostly includes already known changes.
