I meant in Audis. All debadged Audis had nothing left on the trunk, including the Four Rings. It looks really weird without ANYTHING on the trunk.

In the US, there are no lines for the 320...it has the sport package or nothing.

What do you mean "unnecessarily judgmental"? No one cares what people do with their cars. To each his own. But when someone does something silly, like try to fool people into believing that he's driving an M car when he isn't, I can roll my eyes and say "what an idiotic thing to do". Don't judge me for that.

Precisely my point, you don't know his/her motive for sticking an M badge, maybe he/she just like how it looks. BMW themselves are stocking M badges on 2014 M-Sport variants, they are hardly M cars.

Dunno dude. My 2006 S54 blew up at 40k miles. THAT was a real ///M.

What could possibly be the motive for putting another car's badge on your car, other than trying to fool people into believing that your driving something you're not--i.e. a car that costs more than twice as much as your own. What makes it even sillier is that anyone who recognizes the M badge will likely know that the 320i sporting the badge is not an M car. So who is he trying to fool?

Saying that maybe they like the way it looks doesn't make it any less silly. I like Jaguar's hood ornament, putting it on my Camry would be ridiculous.

If you want to wear a fake Rolex, that's fine. But expect to be called out on it. Why not be proud of what you have? The 320, 328 and 335 are all nice cars. Why disguise them as something else.

Not me. I got e92 because of the color and how it drove. Hate how people talk about BMW. Never again.

Another ill informed, sweeping statement. There seem to be lots of them on this board.

Anyone who gets mad over badging is a tool. Period. It means you are caught up in cars as status symbols.

If I were fortunate enough to own an M3 and I pulled up alongside a beat up E46 328i that had some fugazi M Badges slapped on it I'd give the guy a thumbs up. He's obviously a fan of my car.

The general public still perceives BMW's being overall "better" based on the higher series number. This is also why BMW uses the higher numbers for their more expensive models, because of the losers who buy a 7-series because it's the biggest and the best, and will show their neighbors how successful they think they are.

As far as modding a stock car, the final decisions by BMW are mostly financial choices made to increase sales and maximize profit. Just because it is the final design that was chosen and beat others does not make it pure BMW, it makes it the best chance to sell the most cars. If the F30 was made to sell only to enthusiasts of this forum it would not look like it does now, but the reality is the enthusiast is an overall small segment of BMW buyers. Nothing wrong with disliking a part of that final decision and adding your own style to the car you own.

Great post other than this. You just jumped in the pool with all the envious haters. Thats what people say about every BMW. Do you think maybe some people have lots of dough, like finer things in life and like the 7? Not EVERYONE is out to impress people but thats how many look at BMW drivers. Do you drive a BMW?
