Treated myself to this lot from CleanYourCar

I'll get the F31 done as soon as I can and then will do my best with my Dad's X3

Nice!!

I'm still using my 20 year old Porter Cable DAS which has and is still faultless and often thought of a smaller version like that Nano as sometimes even the 3" pads are too big.

Be good to hear an opinion when you've had a play.

Gave the F31 a quick clean inside and then a good clean outside; a good coating of Koch Chemie's Protector Wax and towel dry and that's it done

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Koch-Protec.../dp/B07NQHP352

It's going to get crappy tomorrow onwards and then this next storm; so good timing really

Also thoroughly vac'd inside as I'd done a tip run mid morning and managed to spill sawdust and other detritus all over the boot even though I thought I'd buttoned it all up...

I have to say though, the new Nilfisk vac is very impressive. Would highly recommend one if you're in the market for a new vac

Also took the touring to my pals first thing yesterday as there's a fuel weep somewhere in the engine bay, on the low pressure side of things as we can hardly see where it's coming from... There are some witness marks/clean spots under the intake mani, so unfortunately it's going to be an intake mani off jobby sometime early in May as they're chokka until then - it's not losing diesel, and it's running faultlessly... But it's got us stumped

Did you need to remove the bumper to take the wing off? I need to do the same to mine at some point.

I don't think so mate, but it's at the bodyshop being done properly, not me doing it.

Today's project; a new shelf for the new detailing kit I've got from Cleanyourcar website

The plan is to get the touring done as soon as the weather picks up and stops bloody raining; and then I'll try and get my Dad's X3 done (and probably my Mum's Mini Cooper EV)...

Got my work cut out!

They are indeed! I ditched the original 19s for the Apex’s, and could only find some 18s at the time for the winters. They ride sooo much nicer.

I’m running KW v3 under there too, so the ride is a bit harder than it was. The 18s soften that a little.

Apex's look really good
What rim/tyre sizes are you running?
And run flats or 'real' tyres?
So many questions...

Ha ha, no worries. I got here by asking lots of questions, so I more than happy to pay that back 😊

Apex's are 18x8.5" ET35 - square setup. I like being able to rotate the front and rears. Tyres are 235/40, and yes, they're 'real'. I want some feel!

Very happy with the feel of the whole car now. And amazingly, there is some feel to the steering. I took it to Suspension Secrets, so have their control arm bushings. Makes a difference. Their road setup is mega too — there is no understeer. None. Ever. The cornering is amazing (and for comparison, I had a 911 before and the 'fun' toy now is a Caterham — so I'm acutely aware of how good feel can be).

Adjusted the handbrake as it was way over 10 clicks. Got it to 6 clicks before it stops rolling on a light slope in neutral. Will adjust further and get it down to 3-4 clicks.

Just annoying having to put the car up, wheels off, adjust then wheels back on to test etc

I’ll have a look at the proper procedure on how to do it

You don't always have to take the wheels off, just one bolt and a long flat head screwdriver.

Yeah I saw on the instruction manual I found on the forum that it states just remove one bolt and line it up. I don’t know if having spacers on will make a difference. I’ll have a look tomorrow morning.

Did nothing to mine except park it up again and use my little run around as the weather won’t be as good anymore.

However, I’ll be doing the suspension in the next few weeks/months if the weather is good.

What I want to ask is, for the folks that’s changed their shocks and springs, is it necessary to change the bump stops to uprated ones and the dust covers?

Any recommendations would be much appreciated!

Stick with OE bump stops and dust boots; unless you're going really low, no need to change them for other ones

It's all got to come apart; so fit new ones, along with new spring perches and gaskets etc - just makes sense, it's done then

I sourced all mine via Cotswolds BMW - I used Sachs top mounts via Autodoc
