ER Charge Pipe Questionable Quality?
Hello all. I just received my ER charge pipe and intercooler and was curious to see what every one else has found in terms of quality. I am by no means saying the quality is bad off the bat and forgive me if I am being ignorant but the inside of the CP seems to have questionable quality for a brand new top of the line CP. I should mention the outside looks fine but the inside seemed to shock me for some reason.
Pics added and I had to resize them so please let me know if there are any issues with them. Please let me know if I am wrong about the findings but I just expected more . Thanks guys! |

Who did you buy that from? That's the worst quality I've seen from ER, I F it's from ER.

It did come in an ER box with the intercooler so I would say it has to be ER but it definitely looks horrible in comparison to what I was expecting from ER. |

What it looks like is someone ground down the seams on the inside. They must have been uneven after welding?
That doesn't explain the visible grinding around the bungs and seam.

Something of the sort. Pretty disappointed because I was set up to install everything and was hoping there would be no hassle since I spent the money on ER. It happens though.
Who knows. That could be it. All I know is it doesn't look perfect and new haha. I am happy to see that I am not crazy though. |

Did Forum Sponsor you purchased from tell you it was open box or anything? Was it shipped from Forum Sponsor to you or from ER to you? Last edited by IK6SPEED; 11-26-2018 at 10:51 PM.. |

Functionally as good as an unused part. But it should have been cleaned up nice before ER sent it out again. Just clean it yourself and enjoy

Be prepared that your ER FMIC top mounting bracket holes may not line up. I needed to redrill two holes to mount my mine. Otherwise the product is top notch.

I have an ER Cp and mine was not scuffed up like that. Obviously it was used. You have to wonder why someone would install a good CP and then return.

Hello OP,
I apologize for the quality of the charge pipe you received. As you know by now, this item shipped out from ER direct. We did not have a chance to check it ourselves and it seems that it was missed by ER quality control. Please send me your order number and i will take care of it asap!

We greatly apologize for this. The charge pipe does appear to be previously installed. It should not have went out. This was probably a return/exchange that was not properly checked by our shipping guys before it went back into inventory. We are addressing this issue with our shipping department to ensure that this does not happen again.
Please contact me at fredsu@evolutionracewerks.com so we can get you exchanged out for a new unit. Again I greatly apologize for the issue and inconvenience. |

I had a somewhat similar problem and Fred at ER made it right.
An inconvenience but sometimes sh*t happens. Both vendor and manufacturer are stand-up guys. It will be taken care of. I have both the ER intercooler and charge pipe, and drive the car hard on track days. Very pleased with my ER products. Enjoy. |

New Update: Both Mike at x-ph and ER have taken care of the issue. ER apologized and are sending a new one next week when they get the black back in stock (unfortunately they are out right now haha thats my luck). However they also offered to keep the one I have and get refunded some cash. A stand up offer. I know bs happens and that is always part of business but it is what you do to take care of the problems that shows. It was nice to have great customer service on both ends. Cheers. |
